Jueves Lardero

Going to the countryside to eat together is part of the Jueves Lardero celebration in Galera.

Tortilla and hornazo accompany a day when the afternoon snack and gathering take centre stage. Products from the traditional slaughter and local wine complete this spread of shared food. This stop invites visitors to connect the celebration with the landscape surrounding the village: the paths and the fertile plain are also places for people to come together.

A recipe takes on a different meaning depending on when it is prepared, who it is shared with and what memories it evokes. Local cuisine also includes other dishes, such as couscous and ajo de harina, which add to this gastronomic memory. More than a list of dishes, this tour offers a way to discover the occasions and knowledge that give them meaning in the life of Galera.
